Cabela CLUB Credit Card 2021 Review

The Capital One-issued Capital One Cabela CLUB Credit Card* is meant to reel in outdoor sporting lovers who load up on their essentials at Cabela’s and/or Bass Pro Shops. The no-annual-fee card earns 2 points per dollar spent at both retailers as well as at Cenex convenience stores and gas pumps and 1 point per dollar on all other purchases.

If this sounds like you, you’re likely to get lured in by the Mastercard perks and the ability to bag bigger rewards by meeting certain annual spending thresholds on the card. If this caught your eye for those reasons, release your interest and go for the better haul you’d get with a general-purpose rewards card.

Note: This card has an identical twin, the Capital One Bass Pro Shops Mastercard. These two cards are different in name

Pros
  • No annual fee
  • Low ongoing APR for purchases made within the brand
  • Rewards rate increase for big spenders
Cons
  • Points can only be redeemed towards Bass Pro Shops or Cabela’s spending
  • Higher APR for spending outside of the brand
  • Low welcome bonus

Highlights

  • Earn up to $75 in CLUB Points
  • 15.24% – 26.99% Variable APR on purchases and balance transfers
  • No annual fee
  • It may seem tempting to own the Cabela’s CLUB Credit Card if you’ve spent a decent amount of your disposable income at the outdoor specialty retailer. Purchases made at participating Cenex convenience stores and gas pumps and Cabela’s or Bass Pro Shops will net you 2% of your purchase back in Club Points. Spending anywhere else will net you 1% back in Club Points. If you tend to carry a balance, know that Cabela and/or Cenex spending will be subject to a lower APR then purchases made elsewhere with the card.

Elon Musk says Tesla is 'quite likely' to build a factory in India but only if import taxes are lowered

Tesla is "quite likely" to build an electric-vehicle factory in India, but only if the company's able to import completed vehicles at lower duty rates, CEO Elon Musk said. "If Tesla is able to succeed with imported vehicles, then a factory in India is quite likely," Musk  said on Twitter  on Friday. He added: "We want to do so, but import duties are the highest in the world by far of any large country!"  The California electric-vehicle maker has been lobbying Indian government officials to lower those duties,  Reuters reported on Friday, citing two unnamed sources.  In a letter, Tesla executives said they were seeking to bring taxes down to about 40% of the vehicle's value, according to Reuters. Current import taxes are between 60% and 100%, depending on the vehicle's value.  Tesla earlier this year  registered  a local company, Tesla Motors India and Energy Private Limited, raising expectations that the company would launch in the world'

Tesla has not sold any Bitcoin

Tesla  CEO Elon Musk clarified in a tweet early Monday that the electric vehicle maker “has not sold any Bitcoin.” The price of bitcoin saw a partial recovery, trading at $44,680 as of 2:35 a.m. ET Monday, according to data from Coin Metrics. The exchange came just days after Musk said the company planned to hold rather than sell the bitcoin it already has and intended to use it for transactions as soon as mining transitions to more sustainable energy. Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment. However, Musk seems to have reversed course in recent weeks in favor of dogcoin  the meme-inspired cryptocurrency. Tesla last week also “suspended vehicle purchases using bitcoin,” out of concern over “rapidly increasing use of fossil fuels for bitcoin mining.” The price of bitcoin dropped about 5% in the first minutes after Musk’s announcement. Musk has since been hitting back on Twitter against users who are critical of his cryptocurrency stance. Influential venture investor
